As the Beatles once sang, HELP! This is where we post up answers to your most common questions. We’re brand new so we really want you to tell us if things are broken, don’t work in the way you want them to or if you have an amazing idea about how we could add to the service. What’s a playlist?
A playlist is a saved list of songs. You create and edit playlists in the playlist builder, they get automatically saved to your profile ready for you to sing with. You can look at your friends’ playlists for inspiration, or even copy them to your profile to edit and make your own. When you launch the karaoke player all of your playlists and your friends’ playlists are automatically loaded in – just click the green leaf on the playlist tab to access them.
What can I do with friends?
You can share playlists and plan parties, where you can chat and share photos. Lucky Voice is your first friend – check our profile for the latest news!
Why are my friend invites limited right now?
We’re still very new so we’ve only invited a select number of people to try the service out right now. We really want to get all of your ideas and feedback before throwing it open to everyone. We’ll be giving out more invites soon though, so watch this space.
What’s a party?
A party page is where you plan to get together with your friends for, well, a party! You invite friends, set the place and time, when it will start, and then get down to the business of building your party playlist! This is like a regular playlist but everyone at the party can add to it and edit it. Make sure you use the ‘chat’ tab to discuss who’s going to sing what, and post up photos the next day!
How do I use a microphone?
So you want to amplify your voice and the music. For annoying reasons to do with system drivers it's not as simple as plugging a mic into the microphone jack of your computer and then just connecting up some speakers. If you do this the sound of your voice will be delayed versus the sound of the music.
So how can you make it work? Well we're developing a Lucky Voice Party Box that will allow you to mix the music with your voice and amplify the lot in time. If you're interested in hearing more about it, please contact us via the feedback page.
Aargh! I’ve found something that doesn’t work! What do I do?
Tell us using the feedback form. We want to make this a site that you love, so please let us know about features that don’t work or don’t work how you expect them to.
You don’t have the song I want to sing – that sucks! What can I do about it?
Request the song you want using the request form. We’re going to add new songs all the time, and we need your help to let us know what you want to sing!
How do I change the titles on playlists or parties?
Just click on the title – it will become editable text. Once you’ve typed in your title, press return or click away to save it.
The karaoke player has a mind of its own! Why is it choosing tracks for me?
If you leave the karaoke player to its own devices it will start playing a random selection of tracks to get you singing! Just add some tracks to the playlist from the pink search tab, or from a pre-saved playlist, and delete any of the random tracks you don’t want from the playlist.
How do I delete tracks from my playlist in the full screen karaoke player?
See the song icon next to the song title (the little musical notes)? Drag that song icon left off the playlist tab. The song will drop away and be deleted from the playlist.
